PAMELA BADJOGO

AFRO JAZZ POP
GABON  MALI  FRANCE
> Booking Worldwide

Winner of “the Prix des musiques d'ici 2022”, she has been selected for the Grammy Awards in 2021 with her second album, KABA. Pamela Badjogo clearly follows in the footsteps of great African singers such as “Myriam Makeba” and “Oumou Sangaré” for whom she was backing singer. Her Afro-pop register, Highlife Bantu style, plunges us into the effervescence of the restless nights of Central Africa. In January 2016, Pamela embarked on a solo career. Her debut album "Mes couleurs" is a musical crossbreeding between her Bantu culture and Mali's Mandingo influences. Produced with the support of the French Institute of Mali and the Swiss Cooperation, the album met with great success, propelling her to the final of the “RFI Prix découverte”, a real springboard for her career. In the space of two years, she travelled the length and breadth of the African continent: from the “French Institute” in Bamako to the closing ceremony of the “African Cup of Nations 2017”, via “Jazz à Ouaga” and the “Atlantic Music Expo” in Cape Verde. She also performs in Europe and the United States. The international press has devoted several profiles to the Gabonese artist. Her second album, "Kaba", released in 2021, enabled her to assert her musical signature. In 2023, she produced a series of remixes of her second album, available digitally. January 2024, "YIEH" an even bolder 3rd album! True to her artistic direction, Pamela re-signs with Kwame Yeboah (Ghana). The feminist and activist pushes creativity between Afro jazz and Afro pop. Her music is built on a solid Mandingo heritage from her adopted country, Mali, and a hypnotic blend of highlife guitars accompanied by traditional Bantu melodies and rhythms from Gabon.
